The purpose of this assignment is to describe the connection between mental health and the spiritual determinants of health as a pathway for serving people with mental health disorders.

For this assignment, when thinking about holistic well-being, define that term as achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Use the research presented in the study materials and conduct your own research about the role of the local church in improving mental health. Focus on examples of how public health initiatives have partnered with churches in preventing and treating mental and behavioral health problems, in low- and middle-income countries. In a 750-word summary of the research literature, address the following: 

1. Describe the connection between mental health and the spiritual determinants of health. Provide an example to illustrate your ideas.
2. Explain how relationships affect the health and resiliency of individuals and discuss the role a faith community plays in these relationships. Describe strategies for addressing mental health issues, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Provide an example to illustrate your ideas. 
3. Discuss the collaboration between churches and communities and the strategies that are used to promote holistic well-being within the community. Explain how the development of faith that the church is promoting in the community can contribute to changes in behavior. Include an example related to mental health to illustrate your ideas.
