The events that you identify in the movie will provide you with a list of events, artists and/or bands that you will then research and provide detailed background, chart, and historical information on.The entire paper must be 11 pages in length, and will be graded on 100-point scale. This will make up 25% of your course grade. You will not receive full credit for a paper under 11 pages.You will elaborate on each cited parody/reference, giving an exhaustive background and history of the actual event that the movie parody is based on. Once you identify the parody/historical reference you will then include at least one page of typed prose (Times New Roman, 12-point font, double spaced). If you cite the same band or artist for multiple references from the movie, then you should provide an additional page of typed prose for each reference mentioned for that band/artist. Please be very clear when indicating your parodies/references. I suggest using bold, underline, or a centered topic above the paragraph. The topics are not limited to but should include several of each of the following:–Style or genre. (Certain characters in the movie reference real genres/styles from Rock and Pop). The movie isolates several throughout directly and indirectly. Provide an in depth background on the style/genre that you think is being represented, including hit songs, bands, style characteristics etc.–The general plot of the band/life of This is Spinal Tap could be paralleled to several artists/bands from the history of Rock and Pop, either partially or entirely. State the artist/band that has had a similar history, (this could be the entire movie or just one event/scene). Provide an in depth background on the actual event you think is represented, including the artist/band involved, hit songs, band members, biographical information, instrumentation of band, etc. –Songs written and performed by Spinal Tap may reflect actual songs, in either/both content of lyrics and/or musical style.
