For this discussion, you are the ARFF Commander at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Air Traffic Control (ATC) Ground control picks up the crash line and tells you that there is an In-Flight Emergency (IFE) inbound to PHX. They are 20 minutes out and have 157 souls on board (SOB). The plane is a Southwest 737-400 that has reported smoke in the cabin. They are en route to Runway 7L. Address the following:
- Discuss where you would stage your ARFF crew for the Rapid Response Area (RRA), i.e., what is the route from the firehouse and what taxiway would you stage at?
- What obstacles would you be thinking of if the Critical Rescue and Fire Fighting Access Area (CRFFAA) was needed?
Important: Your response should contain at least 200-300 words and must be substantial. Submit your initial post by the fourth day of the module. You will likely need at least one reference to support and add to the substantiality of your post.
