Please note: You are required to interview two health practitioners from different disciplines and compare/contrast their views. The health practitioners and their views could be made up, so far they have different views that could be used to make an interesting reflection. (for example, One health care practitioner could be my cousin who is a dentist, and the other could be my neighbour who is a doctor).

Interview the practitioners individually and ask them how they conceptualize health promotion and/or community development, and how they view their role in helping individuals and communities to achieve and maintain health.  Ask them to share a story about their work. (This could be made up as well. You don’t need to carry out an interview)

Analysis and Writing

Submit a report that presents:

• How each practitioner views health, including a summary of their stories;

• Comparison of similarities and differences in their perspectives;

• The relationship of their views with the views of health promotion and community development in the assigned readings by referring to specific articles; and

• Reflection on your personal views in relation to what you learned in this project.  How would your own story be similar or different? How would you locate yourself at this point in time?

Evaluation

Your paper will be graded on the following criteria:

• A comprehensive analysis of the requirements presented under the heading Analysis and Writing above

• Practitioners conform to the definition provided above under the heading Recommended Process  

• Extensiveness in using class materials (by referring to specific articles) to demonstrate an understanding of the relationship of the practitioners views with that of health promotion and community development

• Demonstrate an understanding of health promotion and community development 

• Clarity in writing and presentation (including formatting and use of APA format)
