You should identify and discuss who created the theory, when it was created and what research evidence tells us about the theory. You should use peer-reviewed articles for this assignment. Wikipedia and encyclopedia sources are not considered peer-reviewed material. If you have questions about what a peer-reviewed article is, please email me or schedule a meeting with a reference Librarian.
Examples of peer-reviewed journals are Criminology, Criminology and Public Policy, Justice Quarterly or Police Quarterly. You are not limited to these journals, but should note that the relevant factor is “peer reviewed.”
Your paper will include a description of the theory and the articles’ findings. Your paper should include the principle tenets that were supported and those that were not supported (if applicable). After critically analyzing the theory, provide your closing evaluation, assessment and commentary based on the research you reviewed. Support your position with evidence, logic and facts. Should this theory be accepted or rejected when creating crime control policies? Why or why not? If so, how? Explain.
