Music Appreciation

Double space, multiple paragraphs 

The film “Dreamgirls” was first released on December 26, 2006, starring Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce, and Anika Noni Rose, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy and more ,based on The Supremes, a girl group in the 1960s. The main three characters, just like the ones in The Supremes had big dreams. I chose this film after watching the trailer, it had many actors that I was familiar with which always makes it that much better to me, it has a high probability in my head that it will be amazing.  I have many favorite musical pieces that I enjoy watching and Im going to address each one of them.The first one is that at the beginning of the movie when the main characters Effie White, DeenaJones, and Lorrell Robinson known as The Dreamettes, were singing on stage and all of them have a great voice, you could feel the emotions while singing on stage and trying to win to become famous one day. The second one was when Effie White didnt feel well when she said her pain was hurting so she would be late to rehearsals so Curtis Taylor, her ex-boyfriend decided to replace her and the women had a huge argument because she didn’t want to leave the group, she wanted to stay, but they had already decided to kick her out of the group. And you could feel the pain of Effie White when she didn’t want to leave the group because they had been through a lot with them. And when Effie White told her ex-boyfriend that she wanted to stay in the group, he walked out on her and left her in the room by herself and the emotion she had in her face and the way she was singing was very sad because she loved him with all her heart, but he had left. And she was saying that she wanted him, but he didnt want her anymore. Its very emotional when she was expressing her love to him, he just didn’t feel the same way about her anymore and sadly that’s how it is in today’s society and we have to accept the fact and move on.When the lights went on her it was a very intense scene. Her emotions were all over the place and she expressed how she was feeling. Another musical piece was in she started to sing for the first time in 8 years with an audience and her expression on her face was so incredible because she enjoyed what she was doing. Singing is her life. The lights were on her and at that moment it was her spotlight. And the last musical piece that I liked was at the very end when all three of them performed, but not Effie White, she had sung with them after the song they performed. It Was the last song they were going to perform by the audience I believe or they were gonna go quit the band and go their separate ways. When her ex boyfriend noticed that Effie was singing to someone he went to go investigate who it was and when the song was over he noticed  that the little girl was her child and I believe he thinks that its her daughter. There were lights covering each and every one of them. It was an amazing performance that they did, I enjoyed it. My least favorite piece was when the three guys were singing it was only like a 15 second song to it. The Overall experience was great, their singing was amazing, their voices gave me the goosebumps because Effie would hit the high note and it was incredible. Each person had a role to play and they did a fantastic job doing their part, I didnt expect most of the things were going to happen like that when Effies brother just walk on her too, she was very upset and it’s upsetting that family dont have your back when you want them to be by your side. It had all kinds of emotions like happiness and sadness. And how they reached their dream of becoming famous was good, but Effie was out and years later she began to sang.
