Please refer to rubic and reading material.  Also, base this on my unprepared, uncomfortable situation.  I was given an order to reduce the patient’s potassium level using an IV dose of insulin , 10 units of insulin and dextrose.  This is noted to lower the potassiumlevel in 10-20 minutes, but has a lasting effect of 4-6 hours.  This procedure is dangerous and should be done in the presence of the following: extensive nursing staff (rapid response nurses should be on stand-by), Patient should have telemetry monitoring and the blood suger level should be check throughout procedure.  This task was given to me as I was  unexperienced ( new nurse under 6 months experience).   I felt very uncomfortable.  Please explain the dangers of this procedure in the paper and follow the questions.
