Diary of the Planet
Earthweek Diary
Hi Class! Wow – Week THREE, already?! Well – Congratulations! Most of you are doing great posting to the EarthWeek discussions! This week we your First Exam (avail. Monday and /21-22) -and this week’s EarthWeek Diary posting. Also new Chapters 7 & 8 are ready in the Module -so feel free to scan ahead to that next segment whenever you’re ready.
Remember this EarthWeek Discussion is like an Online “Show&Tell” – please go find and “SHOW” us something (a map, photograph, diagram, etc.) – and “TELL” us about it – what did you find out in addition to what is in the EarthWeek Diary?
Have a great week!
If a refresher on WHAT TO DO and how to participate for this assignment is needed, please see – provided the first week. Please be sure to read and follow the instructions before posting a response in the discussion.
Briefly:
- Thoroughly read through the 1-page Earthweek Diary below. THEN select ONE featured topic in the Diary that you found especially interesting or significant in some way.
- Do a quick search to find out anything more that you can about the topic that interested you. Or select a similar, related item you discover in your search. It need not be of the specific example in the Diary. Select a map, photo, video clip, document, or other item to share and then,
- POST to the discussion board a comment or brief description of what you found out and include the photo, map, etc. in your posting so the entire class can check it out and learn something new as well. That’s it! For maps and photos especially, embed the actual map or photo instead of just a LINK to the photo. SHOW us in your posting. Also, if also adding a link, for e.g., video clips or web site links – be sure to INSERT > LINK > to enter the URL so it is “HOT” for us anxious readers who want to just click and go see for ourselves!
Notes:
- Keep it brief – a few sentences to a paragraph or so is all that is required. Pick a single concept or point or two to remark upon – this is not the place for a FULL book report.
- It’s perfectly OK to remark on a topic that someone has already contributed on. Simply add to the discussion with a different map, photo, or link, and offer your own commentary.
- You may freely reply to each others posts, introduce yourselves to each other, share additional stories if you like. Only your original discussion posting on the Weekly Diary topic you selected is required and counted for point value however. Anything additional in the way of comments you contribute between each other are quite welcome, but optional.
OK! Here’s the CURRENT Earthweek Diary for the week ending Friday, June 18, 2021. Look it over, find something out that you can add to any one item (don’t forget to grab a map, photo, doc or link!) – and then Post to Share!
