2. The generational cycle for monarchs ranges from April to June four days after mating, but they began to  surface in North America and Canada in May. Some limiting factors that the species’ biotic potential is the change in environment, climate and pesticides that can cause the population to decline year to year. 

3.The female species is sighted more because they travel to lay their eggs while the males are only sighter 3 to 4 weeks after emerging. The survivorship curve of this species exhibits TYPE II.

4. Monarchs  are K selected.

5. The monarch uses their appearance to ward off most prey or predators. But ants,spiders and wasps pree on the larvae that are on the milkweed tree.

More than 50% of the colony are being devoured by these predators. But male monarchs are more likely to be killed than the female monarch due to the different bodily chemicals that they create.
