Informative Speech (4 to 6 minutes)
You will select and prepare a speech on a topic where you can import information to your audience. Your speech should not be constructed to persuade or to only entertain the audience, but rather to teach your audience something new.
Make sure to choose something you are interested in (even if you don’t know much about it) or something you may already be familiar with. Current events, public figures, and places are acceptable as long as your sources are credible (no tabloids, entertainment websites, viral websites, Wikipedia, or YouTube).
You should have at least three valid sources in your works cited page and also orally cite two while you are presenting your speech.
Guidelines for Informative Speech:
There must be AT LEAST THREE credible sources. Tabloid, viral news sites, and Wikipedia is NOT allowed.
Sources need to be in MLA format, alphabetized, and in hanging indentations.
Do not number your sources or put them in bullet points.
They must be at the bottom of the document for your outline.
