Setting up an Activity/Interest Center
Why am I doing this assignment?
The purpose of this assignment is to apply what you learned in the class so far about creative activities and play, creative environments, and technology by creating your own interest center. This assignment requires you to use your own creative skills and learning to develop an engaging interest center for the age group of your choice.
What do I need to do for this assignment?
Choose one of the following groups below (*If you would like it to be an age range, that’s fine too. Specific populations like children with medical conditions, developmental disabilities, etc. are also fine to focus on). Follow the prompt to provide details on what your interest center focuses on, the equipment and materials it needs, etc. Pictures may also be provided to demonstrate what the center may look like. Chapter 6 and other areas of the book provide a lot of suggestions and ideas for an activity/interest center. Use what you are interested in and have fun creating!
