personal note for the first question: i am junior at Xavier university of louisana, 

studying dual physics and mechanical engineer. 

This assignment is for you to synthesize what you have learned so far this semester.  You will essentially take the small assignments and improve them based on what you have learned from the course content and what you have found through your own discoveries to discuss what type of research you would like to conduct.

Consider this an application for one of the CURGO programs that Xavier has for undergraduate research opportunities like BUILD, McNair Scholars or GradSTAR.  

There are also other faculty members like myself that are always looking for research assistant.  Here is an updated list

  • Details about what you are interested in researching
  • How your desired profession has sparked your research interest.  
  • What personal experiences also enhance your interest in this topic

  • Identify what studies you have read and how you find them helpful
    • theories and frameworks

    • research foundations or ideas
  • What documentaries you may have watched and what they contribute to your understanding
  • Experiences and observations give you insight into the issue that may not be in research

  • What classes at Xavier have prepared you to conduct research
  • What other programs have given you skills related to research or in research directly
  • What job opportunities have given you interpersonal skills and organizational skills
• Summary of importance
  • Restate your passion for the research and its connection to YOU and your desired profession
  • Discuss the skills that you can offer to help the research be successful
  • Identify what you plan to learn from the experience
  • Articulate how your research can benefit larger communities
