Madison, (1803) John Marshall wrote “To what purpose are powers limited, and to what purpose is that limitation committed to writing, if these limits may, at any time, be passed by those intended to be restrained?” Alexander Hamilton wrote in Federalist No. 78 (1788), “No legislative act, therefore, contrary to the Constitution, can be valid.” Considering the heighten security measures due to an increase in terror attacks, do you agree with the limitation of individual rights that are generally protected by the Constitution?
