1) A reflection component: In this 5 – 7 page paper each student will address how they have grown/changed through the program. The student will present the ideas, skills and theories they brought to the program. They explore what changed in their understanding and their practice of counseling.  Students share the new perspectives they have toward the counseling process. Students must include information on their understanding of how human personality develops, and how that process is sometimes disabled. They also explain their understanding of how the change process happens in counseling. They describe how the counselor works to help individuals move toward better mental health. This paper should include the students perception of their own personal strengths in the area of counseling. They also identify skills and knowledge that they feel are still lacking.
