Annotated bibliography on JKF Assassination
Annotated bibliography on JKF Assassination Five to seven separate sources (minimum three typed pages total) on one central topic ? An annotation is a brief summary or description of a piece of longer writing The bibliography (a list) begins with a critical introduction paragraph?which includes a thesis statement?and ends with a critical conclusion paragraph. All entries in the annotated bibliography are listed in alphabetical order by the authors? last names, the same as on a works cited page Each annotation is double spaced Each annotation entry includes the standard MLA citation for the source that is being annotated. The annotation is made up of: Two to four sentences which summarize the main idea or ideas of the item (article, book, website), (2) One or two sentences that relate the article, book, etc. to the overall topic that you are researching, and (3) One or two sentences that comment on the source?s intended audience. (4) Your own ideas and opinions on the usefulness of the source may also be included in each annotation in a sentence or two as well as any critical thoughts on the work. This is the standard format for an annotation, though depending on the length of the source and the information found in it, the annotation may be longer and can even be more than one paragraph in length. This is dependent upon how much you find and want to include. The annotation can and at times should include direct quotes from the source, though for each quote a parenthetical citation must be used to show where the quote was found. The same rule applies for paraphrasing/summarizing. Hanging indents are used for each entry. The first line of the annotation begins at the left margin of the page and each following line is indented four spaces (see sample annotations below). The annotation is a continuation of the source?s citation. Do not start the annotation on a new line, just keep going. The same MLA format rules apply for an essay and an annotated bibliography including heading on the first page, header on the top right of each page, one inch margins on all sides of each page, double spacing, 12-point font, etc. Titled ?Annotated Bibliography? or may be adjusted to include information on the topic.
