Purpose
The purpose of this discussion is to develop proficiency in advanced Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis and forecasting techniques, enabling proactive project control and accurate prediction of final project outcomes.InstructionsPart 1: Initial Post (Due by Day 3)
Post a substantive response of 400–500 words that addresses all of the following:Explain the purpose of forecasting in Earned Value Management and why it is more valuable than simply reporting current variances.
Describe at least two different Estimate at Completion (EAC) formulas and the project situations in which each is most appropriate.
Using a simple project example with provided or self-created data, calculate EAC, Estimate to Complete (ETC), and Variance at Completion (VAC). Interpret the results.
Share your perspective: As a project manager, how would you use EVM forecasting to communicate project status and recommend corrective actions to stakeholders?
Support your post with a minimum of two scholarly references (one must be from the assigned Week 4 readings, and one may be from a credible external source). Use APA 7th edition format for citations and references.Part 2: Responses to Colleagues (Due by Day 6)
